About

Putting a face to the term Cowboy Crooner, Lee Sims uses his sturdy baritone to build tales of the American West, his stories telling tales of treachery (“Barber Creek Road”), white hat heroes healing hearts (“I’m Gonna Let You Down”), open roads (“Highway to Heaven”), simple pleasures (“Champagne in a Dixie Cup”), and country wisdom (“When Noah Built the Ark”). A Few More Miles to Go takes time to address social issues such as addiction in “Alcohol of Fame” as it paints a picture of love being “Colorblind” while the night sky over Wyoming watches a lover coming back home when Lee Sims cruises by the light of “Big Blue Moon”.

ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR 2003

3 TIME GOLDEN MUSIC AWARD WINNER 2001  IN NASHVILLE

Lee’s expansive performance experience is mind numbing. By the age of twelve Lee began music lessons, tackling the lap steel and traditional guitar.  Lee’s first “real gig” was at a Jr. High talent show where he spring-boarded his career, and within a month Lee founded his own band and his was performing professionally.

Lee and his grass-roots accompaniment, The Platte River Band, have performed across the United States and Canada. Making Colorado home, Lee Sims quickly became a household name; you are certainly in the minority if you haven’t attended at least one performance at the iconic Taste of Colorado, Elitch Gardens, Zanza Bar, or one of the coveted Colorado County Fairs!

In addition to the full schedule of performances in clubs, honky tonks, gatherings, and soirees, Lee’s authoritative voice has attracted the attention of radio commercial and television show producers. As a result, Lee’s voice has been a staple for Colorado radio listeners for decades.  Additionally, Lee has performed on a laundry list of demos for songwriters, once again attracting the attention of producers in Nashville, TN where he was a finalist on You Can Be a Star!  Lee’s credits also include performing with numerous Country Music stars including Waylon Jennings, Tanya Tucker, Buck Owens, and George Strait.

Lee’s 2001 CD, Back Trackin’, earned international recognition and landed him at the #1 spot on Top Trax 100 Chart, the first Independent Artist to do so!  Lee's highly anticipated 2014 CD, Deep in the Heart of Me, has rocketed to the top as well, hitting #1 on the New Music Weekly Chart (Blues on Parade) and #7 on the Roots Music Report’s Weekly Top 50 True Country Album Chart.  Lee explains, "this CD is a culmination of my musical career and influences with nine original songs, world-class musicians, and Nashville production, this CD is a MUST for County Music Fans everywhere!”  Fans can listen to songs from Deep in the Heart of Me at Lee’s website, www.leesims.com, and purchase the album on CDBaby.com, LeeSims.com, and iTunes.
